Assuming that www.domain.com and mail.domain.com both point to the same IP address,
you are almost certainly dealing with a DNS issue.
Have you tried putting www.domain.com into the POP3 address? If that works, you can
be sure that it is a DNS problem. If that doesn't work, then the firewall is probably
playing some sort of game with you (such as only allowing POP3 connections to certain
IP addresses), in which case they would have to make a change to their firewall.
Of course, if it is a DNS issue, I can't think of what would cause it. If you get
www.domain.com, then the new DNS has propagated to the clients.
The only thing I could see wrong on your end would be if port 110 wasn't listening...
but then, your other domains would have the same problem.
