I inherited a mess and want to migrate away from it using Imail.
I have a Unix SUN system running sendmail. It's acting mainly as a router
and has extensive alias, virtusertable, and list files. Almost no users
are resident on this system. I'm assuming that I'll create a number of
command files using the command line utilities from Ipswitch. This seems
rather straightforward.
The other system I want to convert is a Joydesk/sendmail combination
running on a NT4 server. This system has about 30,000 users on it. No
lists or aliases here. (It runs a CGI script to put the users into the Sun
systems virtusertable.) I understand that I can create more command files
to move these users over, again pretty straightforward, but the big
problem will be their passwords.
Does anyone have experience with Joydesk running on MetInfo's Sendmail?
Should I just try a password hacking program to pull out the passwords?
How about the actual emails themselves?
Has any else done a large migration like this into Imail? Any hints?
Thanks,
Val
