Hi Ron,
We currently have an open call about LDAP server spiking to 100%. It seems
to only occur if you have a domain with usernames that are shorter than the
specification, when a user makes an LDAP query on that domain. Specifically
if you have usernames that are numeric and 1 character long it seems to
break the whole LDAP directory for the domain. We use IMail with SQL DB so
it was possible to add out-of-spec usernames. We find that the only way to
bring the LDAP service under control is to restart the service however it
can be retriggered straight away.
Does this sound similiar?
Cheers

Subject: [IMail Forum] Anyone using IMail's LDAP server successfully?
Hi Everyone,
Just wonderin'... is anyone querying against IMail's LDAP server
(v6.x) with *any* client successfully? And I'm not just talking
about once in a while; I mean really hitting it without
incident.
We've got a COM object in development to allow ASP pages to
query non-MS LDAP servers (like IMail), but after about 10-30
queries against the server, IMail's CPU spikes to 100% for
several seconds, and the game's over for that browser session.
The same COM/ASP combo works flawlessly against other non-IMail
LDAP servers. And yes, we've tried MS's ADSI LDAP interface...
those of you who've tried to make that work against IMail know
why we're now trying to roll our own. :)
Are there known issues with IMail and LDAP? Ipswitch KB searches
came up dry, with the exception of using objectclass=Person,
which we are doing.
Thanks in advance,
Ron
