Title: RE: [IMail Forum] Imail Administrator changing password
I changed the root to a different user but it is still changing any ID I open and select the apply button to.  I do not use LDAP.

I use IMail with SQL 7 and I have seen IMail recreate a 'root' user before ( I think it happened when I did a global user change or Optimise LDAP). Does it happen if you set a different username to be the system administrator?

I am using Oracle and Yes the password actually changed in the table.  I don't have anything else running on this box.

Kim,

I've never heard of this one (nor have I been able to duplicate it!) before,
so all I have are more questions!

What database are you using for IMail and all your domains?
If IMail, this would imply that something is causing the registry to be
modified. Not sure why this might happen. Only thing I can think of would be
some other process or service is also using the registry and causing some
conflict. Shut of any service or close all other programs and see if problem
goes away.
If NT DB, IMail should not make any changes to NT passwords. Does this mean
that the user must now login to NT network with 'password' as his password?
If External, open view of DB and check that users password. Did it REALLY
change in the table?
