Title: RE: [IMail Forum] Imail Administrator changing password

The table is created by IMail with the following fields using Version 6 and 6.03.  I never had an earlier version.

Name                                                  Null?    Type
 ----------------------------------------------------- -------- ---------------
 USERID                                                         VARCHAR2(255)
 PASSWORD                                              NOT NULL VARCHAR2(255)
 FULLNAME                                                       VARCHAR2(255)
 USERDIR                                                        VARCHAR2(255)
 MAILADDR                                                       VARCHAR2(255)
 MAXSIZE                                                        NUMBER
 MAXMSGS                                                        NUMBER
 FLAGS                                                          NUMBER

There are only 8 fields.

Yes the password changes every time you open the user record again.

Kim,

So you normally use some other tool to create users? What is that and how is
it configured for creation of new records and the data they contain? I still
suspect some 'mismatch' between the field sizes/definitions between what
IMail expects and the table contains, but that is only a guess.

If you open IMail Administrator, select a user, change the password and
save, Close IAdmin, reopen and go back to that user, does password to
'password' change again?

I'm still grasping for straws here, so do not expect a 'solution'.

Did you have a V5 version of IMail, and update to V6.0x? Along the way the
table definition was changed, so the question becomes, 'how many fields does
your table contain (should be 9) and what are their names?'. If I remember
correctly, a new one was added to the end (number 9), named 'type'. If you
do not have that one, it could be somehow related.
