I get a lot of MX connect fails, too.  That happens when IMail is unable to reach the 
SMTP server it is sending a message to.

Do you get an MX connect fail for each attempt to send an E-mail?  Or does it not 
happen all the time?  If it doesn't happen all the time, it may just be that the mail 
server is down (try running telnet and connecting to the IP address that is listed, at 
port 25, and see if it responds; if not, their server is down or unreachable).

What are the IP addresses that show up in the MX connect fail message?  Are they 
internal or external addresses?  They should be external addresses.

If using telnet you can not connect to the mail servers, and they are up and running, 
you have a non-IMail problem, that you will need to fix.
