Changing registry settings is quite dangerous. Something I love to do <G>, but
dangerous. If you have to make registry changes, you need to be very careful and know
the risks involved. If a software company forces you to make registry changes, that's
not good.
But, why did you make those registry changes? Either you made them frivolously and
took a risk that you've got to own up to, or IMail (or someone here, etc.) suggested
that you should. That's why I was asking about the binding, to see if there really
was a need to go into the registry.

Thanks for your interest, but I'm affraid you have missed the problem. My
problem has never been with sending and receiving mail. I had described how
I had to get it set up to do so, but that was really irrelevant to a certain
extent. It was in having to apply that workaround that SCREWED up the
domains and users within Imail that was the problem. Why is the question I
may have to phone IPSWITCH about, should the virtual set up not workout.
