1st:  read your contract as most cable/DSL providers will not allow servers 
on residential installs

2nd:  You will need a static IP address (most likely will use DHCP or 
server assigned IP)

3rd:  Cable modem will be determined by in ISP

4th:  Make sure your home PC/network is secure.  see www.grc.com
