Actually, simply deleting the messages would do the following versus not using RBL (or 
DUL):

o It would cut the traffic out of your system by about 90% (just a guess; if spammers 
use an average of 20 BCC's, it would cut your traffic by about 95%).

o It would cut down your time/money expense if you got attacked (no need to deal with 
all those people sending the spams back to you).

o It would hurt the spammer (he would have wasted HIS time and money trying to send 
the spam through your system).

It would, however, have the disadvantage of causing the initial traffic, and possibly 
having a few legitimate E-mails get killed instead of bounced (or saved to a directory 
for review).

Of course, if Ipswitch chose to implement this, it could be done as the message was 
being received, which would cut out the disadvantages.
