if you have 300 mailhosts on one ip, you don't add the ip to Imail,
but NT tcp/ip and Imail will pick up that ip and listen on it.
When the original ip is no longer used, you delete it from NT and
then have to go into the registry of Imail to delete it there.

Just drop it all at once so the zone file have the default TTL and
SOA TTL set to
$TTL 3600
... now and wait until your previous TLL expires. Means increased
DNS traffic for a day or week, but no panic.
Once your old TTL has expired, submit the DNS HOST ip changes to your
registrar. When those hit the roots, the traffic will star arriving
at the new ip's. Then goose up your TTL's to 1D or 1W.
