Kirk,

Well, you are running V5.05 and here is the results of a telnet session to
the SMTP service:

220 X1 NT-ESMTP Server keyconn.net (IMail 5.05 8402-1)
vrfy nanawop
250 ok its for <nanawop>
vrfy [EMAIL PROTECTED]
250 ok its for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
vrfy [EMAIL PROTECTED]
550 unknown user <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
vrfy [EMAIL PROTECTED]
550 not local host dns1.keyconn.net, not a gateway
vrfy [EMAIL PROTECTED]
250 ok its for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

The first 250 line, tells me the username is in that domain, as does the
second (the full address). The first 550 line tells me that IMail does not
recognize that username, in the specified domain (but that domain does
exist). the second 550 line tells me that domain does not exist in IMail.

Also note that if you are using in IMail, on the Primary IP, for the
'Official Host Name (OHN)', a name that is different than the 'Host and
Domain Names' as found in the TCPIP setting, you MUST put the IP and the
name used by IMail, into the HOSTS file.

>From what I see from the SMTP session, you have configured IMail with only
the 'domain.name', when IMail expects the full 'machine.domain.name'. If it
does not have an Alias of 'mail.keyconn.net', or what you entered in the
Alias field is incorrect. That IMail recognizes the name, tells me you
probably have another domain named 'mail.keyconn.net', but it has no users
(well, it does not have this user!) except root (the last 250 line indicates
the user and domain exist!)

I suspect you either changed the defaults during the inistall of IMail, or
changed the OHN after the install, or created 2 domains, when 1 would have
been enough.

Kind of hard to say exactly which of the above is true without looking at
many things. Lets start with the TCPIP settings, the IP tab (what IP is
shown) and the DNS tab (Host and Domain fields). What do you see in these??
And a complete list of 'domains' and their IPs (if they have one) and
Aliases, known to IMail.
