Jason,

A 'full address' is always better than just a username, in the definition of
an Alias.

As a matter of fact, under some conditions (like DNS maybe not working
correctly or not available, like in an intranet) I would even go so far as
to recommend the address be in the form: [EMAIL PROTECTED], where
machine.domain.name, is that used by IMail for the 'Official Host Name',
just to be most explicit. This way IMail will be sure to find the 'correct'
user in the 'correct' domain. Although if you have only one domain, you can
get away with just the username, if all other things are correct (the
computers and IMail's configurations and with a fully functional and correct
DNS and HOSTS file). This does not mean that the shorter @domain.name form
cannot be used, just that when one is having troubles, it is always better
to be as explicit and correct, as possible.

Since Clifford seems to be a newbie and has lots of rather routine
questions, I think he would be helped by using the KnowledgeBase and
checking the manual. Might get his answers much faster than waiting for us
to answer.
