Seems to me I've seen TV ads for AOL V6 over the last few days or weeks and
that implies at least the possibility of a modified browser.

AOL users have had best success using a standard browser (IE or NS) instead
of AOLs. AOL also uses proxies, so users IP addresses can change at anytime
(Cal mentions the needed setting in IMail, Web MSG, to allow changing IPs at
reduced security).

Unlikely that removing the message of the day would have any effect. The
page that comes next is the same and if they got past the MOD before, they
still end up in the same place (menu.html).
