To All,

Background info:

Win2k Server, Imail 6.04 one static ip number.. 27 aliased domains.

I have SMTP Security tab set as follows:

Allow remote mail to local groups - on
Allow remote view of local groups - on
Refuse Null senders - off
Check valid sender - on
Auto-deny possible hack attempts - on
Disable SMTP "vrfy" comman - on
Disable SMTP "auth" reporting -off

Mail Relay options is set to: Relay mail for "Addresses" the appropriate addresses are listed for the local network.

I am allowing external users to relay mail via SMTP Authentication. Twice this week I have had customers calling me to tell me they cannot send mail. These are customers that have been setup for months now. It also happened to me today. The dreaded 550 error. The SMTP service seems to just quit working. I looked in the Ipswitch database found nothing. After rebooting the server, it comes back up and works.

Please let me know if you have experienced this before.

Thanks,

Cody
