Len,
Tis I that was doing the complaining and Robert Stull at IPSwitch doing or
arranging the fixes at IPSwitch.
As for the delivery to the gateway, They (ipswitch) did add a band-aid fix
to speed up delivery. Basically, the gdeliver will still only send out a
maximum of five messages per connection - but instead of waiting for the
queue timer and trying again, imail simply disconnects and reconnects, and
sends five more. It's not the best fix but definitely acceptable for now.
Hopefully 7.0 will give us multiple gateways, separate queue times for
gdelivers, alternating deliveries to multiple gateways, etc...
fyi - Currently, Imail does not do a DNS lookup on the gateway hostname,
Once it learns the IP, that's it until you restart the service.
