More likely it's a filtering problem. Remember that when your server is
sending mail to another one, it's opening a connection on port 25, but
is picking a random port to initiate the connection on. Don't know if
Win2K allows for some type of "keep state" rule (NT didn't have one I'm
aware of, so I'm doubtful).

To test it out, log on to the Win2K server and from the command prompt
try:

telnet some.mailserver.com 25

If you know that server is up (i.e. by doing the same from an unfiltered
machine), you'll likely find the problem.
