Pete,

Is the first NIC set to use the internet IP (for it's first IP, if
multiples) and the second your internal network? That is what IMail would
normally expect and would casuse it use the first IP for connections for
your Primary Domain. If instead, the first NIC is the Internal network I
would expect you would get MX fail and Stack Fail connects for many, if not
all of your delivery attempts.

Before the 'stack connect fail' there should be 'MX connect fail' messages
for that same delivery attempt. This means only that IMail tried to use the
MX host name/ip and could not connect and when all MX exhausted, it uses the
IP for the domain, and if still unable to connect, you would get the final
'stack connect fail' message. If these 2 messages occur, then IMail could
not connect to any of the receivers, so I have never seen (nor can I figure
out a way for) the 'stacj connect fail' to be followed by a 'may be
forged'. I think you may be seeing different delivery processes, interleafed
in the log and getting 2 or more processes responces mixed up.

Maybe it is time to reveal the IPs assigned to the computer, indicating
which is associated with each NIC, and which is the Primary IP (that
assigned in the TCPIP settings, not in the Advanced) along with the TCPIP
settings for Host and Domain names, and your HOSTS file. Then, what is the
OHN IMail uses, with the Primary IP. Also include some of the log file, that
shows your trouble sending email.

I just used 'deltronix.com' and checked DNS, connected to both MX hosts and
the first is not IMail, but the second is. However, that server is running
IMail v5.05 and the hostname it replies with is rugby22.deltronix.com and
that hostname has no A record in DNS. This last part is NOT correct, there
must be an A record for that hostname. I also wonder if the name IMail uses
matches that assigned to the IP and if this computer has had its IP or
hostname changed since NT first installed. That could cause complications
(that can be resolved), especially since NT is pretty bad at updating the
HOSTS file.
