Scott.

If you are using Imail database, I would recommend using one of the utility
programs like imu_util or the getusers program. I had copies of the
registry and was able to restore them, but had problems with the re-install
of IMail running correctly with the registry entries. I had to remove IMail
completely, and set up the domains first, then create batch files from the
output of IMU_UTIL to add the users, then I restored the users folders, and
all was well. It took only an hour or so to get back online the second
time, after trying the registry restore, and dinking with it for a couple of
days.

The readme for IMU_UTIL shows a contact info of www.martek.net

I haven't verified if those links are still good, and I don't remember where
I got the utility. I keep a volume of possibly useful programs and DL them
there, and research later if they will work for me.

To Back-up, you need a minimum of a copy of Imail registry hive, imail
directory, and the users.txt & passwd.txt from IMU_UTIL. (Don't forget to
keep a copy of all of the patches you have applied also.)

I am setting up scheduled events on the IMail machine to perform this task.

Mirrored drives were a big plus for me.
