I am not running Windows 2000 on the email machine - NT 4.

uhsweb.com points to our web site, currently being hosted at our internet
provider. They have their own SMTP server.
mail.uhsweb.com points to my email server in house.

The problem likely is that the MX record for uhsweb.com points to
mail.uhsweb.com, but the SMTP port on uhsweb.com doesn't appear to be IMail.
It answers "220 SMTP service ready".  Unless you changed the text in the
registry, that sounds like Microsoft answering.  If so (you're running
Windows 2000, right?) just disable the Microsoft SMTP service.
