If you are running a Pix Firewall and have been getting duplicate email or
remote email servers with trouble sending email to your mail servers. This
may be due to a bug with the Fixup Protocol SMTP 25 command with the later
versions of the PIX Firewall Software that has compatibility problem with
certain mail servers. This came about after a call to the Cisco TAC. If
you have these problems try removing the Fixup Protocol SMTP 25 Command from
your Pix Configuration. I was getting as many as several hundred copies of
email messages per day, now after removing the fixup protocol command the
problem is gone.
