Hi
I do have the MX going to the correct (real) mailserver name. getting mail
is not the problem it is the way that the user reply address is shown
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ) also i was not sure if this is why i cannot email
certain domains.
I was also told that i should change host name to domain.com and alliases to
mail.doamin.com I am not sure why this would be. I need to know also if i
delete the domains how can i reneter them with out doing it by hand. I
would not think that i can copy the reg and import them back in without
problem because the domain would now be different.

Any direction please
Scott

Hi,
I think you need to create MX record for that virtual domain pointing to the
real Imail server with that IP.

Subject: [IMail Forum] why is the users email made to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi

I have set up a couple of Virtual daomains and when the user sends mail from
that domain thier email is [EMAIL PROTECTED] Should i have put just
the domain in the host name.? For each domain i used
offical host name mail.domain.com
aliases domain.com

Is this correct.? in my DNS i have a A record for each virual domain on the
mail server that is mail.domain.com ( so that the client can use
mail.domain.com in the SMTP ansd POP3 settings. ( should i have not done
this. ?) the MX record for each domain points to the real name of the
server. mail.realdomain.com .
I have had problems with sending mail to certain domains ( ucalgary.ca )
could this be why. ?

Sorry for all the question i just need everything to run correctly.
(without a long trial and error time.)

Thanks
Scott
