You could enter their IP address into the POP3 Control Access. Then they
will call you with a 'problem' ( I cannot get my mail!) and you can tell
them the solution (set your client to check ONLY every 5 minutes or more)!
Sorry, I don't know of any way to limit the number of POP3 connections vs
time in IMail. The above places a limit of zero, until you change it.
Those users are probably just using the default on their OE client. MS
clients seem to like to check much more often than really necessary. Of
course there are some people who seem to think that checking more often is
'good' and will get them their email 'faster', but we know that is not
really true and need to teach them. Of course, if they want, they can
usually make the client check 'right now' with a click or 2.
A few users doing this should not place any 'undue' load on the IMail
system. The whole process should take little time (connect, send username,
password, check mailbox, if no new, disconnect) or need any significant CPU
resources. IMails POP3 can support many simultaneous connections and
commands.
