Thank you to all for the help and replies, the reason I was unsure on this
matter was that it was supernetting rather than subnetting and CIDR is
something I had never really looked into I just knew what it meant and not
really much else.
And the fact that although I had entered the 212.1.128 /19 subnet correctly
as 255.255.224.0 IMAIL still chose to refuse relay from 2 ip addresses
within this supernetted range which were 212.1.135.xxx and 212.1.151.xxx.
I have taken a completely different tack on this for the short term and all
appears to be ok.
But has anyone else had problems with Imail and supernetted IP ranges ?? you
usually get these where your customers are using a dialup service such as
world online to get internet access.
For the short term I have added 212.1.0.0 and a subnet of 255.255.0.0 but
this isnt a particularly favourable situation. Which my initial panic was
the short term problem that people couldnt send mail at all if they got
certain IP's allocated and this fixes that problem
