While I can't pretend to know how to go about creating an ASP control to
connect to the IMail server (and any tips on how to get started would be
greatly appreciated!) but wouldn't this method still involve a form which
gets submitted and hence is still visible on the client side (with username
and password?)

Thanks, Liam

What you would need to do is have the server connect to IMail and submit
the form, then send the resulting page back to the user. It's not pretty,
but can be done. You need something like an ASP control to handle
connecting to the IMail server, and then you need to use redirection to get
the client pointed to the IMail server (where the next hit should go).
