When our previous Sys Admin left the money guys rerouted all
correspondence to themselves. I've just learned that to show a better
bottom line they did not renew any service contracts. By cutting the tech
guys out the also inadvertently misrepresented a number of items. The new
company thought that all of the routers were leased with a "Dollar Buy Out"
at the end of the lease, not "Fair Market Value". All of the hardware guys
knew it though, because we thought it was a bad decision from the start. As
the last hold over from the old company staff I'm getting some nasty looks
from my bosses and their money guys. What can I say, I wasn't party to any
of the negotiations and no one asked me anything. Actually all of us felt
we were intentionally be cut out and were going to be let go once the
company sold. Little did we know that the money guys were afraid we might
contradict their rose colored view of the company and it's assets. Sort of
glad they are gone, but feel bad that the new owners got taken in the deal.
Now I've found out that the notice probably went to out old Sys Admin's
address that went out with him a year ago. Hope I can talk the new guys
into purchasing a new one.
BTW all our accounts are company property, but no one cares to read
anyone else's Email, we just don't have the time.
