Sorry, people

(actually, not very sorry :))) )

When the Evil Empire gets caught in its hypocrisy, outright lies, etc, AND
the story gets broken by the capitalist bastion of WSJ, its just too good
to pass up:

open source code in their products!! (how "unAmerican", as Allchin would say)

I really like to know the technical weaknesses of W2K DNS such that MS
cantt use it and must instead use FreeBSD+BIND, even now.

(Where would Hotmail be using FreeBSD+BIND? My guess is in the DNS boxes
that their outbound mail gateways use for sending Hotmail to
Internet. With 100 million mail accounts sending mail, one can imagine
that BIND is answering recursive DNS queries at a rate of several
1000/sec. They certainly have many FreeBSD+BIND boxes in that role. I
wonder what theyre using for outbound mail gateways?).

At least this is another indication the the BSD tcp/ip stack is, and has
been, the best available (as Ballmer has said: "Take the best out their
and make it ours") aka "MS innovation" :))).

With all the $20B+ in cash, and the best and brighest they can hire, they
still use free, open source software in critical products and roles and
then lie about. What lovely a lovely corporate culture.
