It sounds like you may have been disconnected from the remote server. To check this, 
click on the services folder in the left pane. If the version numbers for the services 
read: "UNKNOWN" then you have been disconnected and need to reconnect. If you have 
been disconnected it will appear as if you can still add users. These are actually 
being displayed locally and will not be created on the server. Hope this helps...

the latest version of V7?

Depending on the volume of users this can take sometime.
For a list of 1000 users you could see a rather lengthy delay.
