Do you mean there is no subscription because no one is subscribed, or because it is marked as a private list (meaning users cannot subscribe themselves)?
If there is no one subscribed to the list, then it isn't really a list... If there are users subscribed to the list, the list is marked as private, and subscribers are the only ones that can post, then you in effect have a list that only the people on the list can post to AND no one can join unless the administrator adds them to the list.

I would do that, but i use the lists as a private list, not a subscription
list, and therefore their is no subscription.
