Thanks, Len (smile). I like your Cliff Notes approach. I have had him set the SMTP Auth and all is MUCH better -- happy customer and he's off my back.
Thanks. Oh, have you gotten the IMGateAV instructions worked out? I have to do some reading on the subject, now. uh, no, you're making this too hard, dear masochist. I assume you have "relay for addresses" or "no relay" on IMail now, so there is nothing to do on your end. All he has to do is use SMTP AUTH. Alternatively, if he can obtain an infinite DHCP lease on his DSL ip or obtain a fixed DSL ip, then you can just add that ip to your "relay for addresses" list and he won't have to do SMTP AUTH. You can also put his fixed or infinite-lease ip in your IMGate's my_networks and he can relay out through IMGate, taking that load totally off IMail. If you set his MX's to point at IMGate, you can offer him IMGate's anti-abuse defense, and if you add IMGate anti-virus, you can sell him that service, too. there, your "reading" is done. :)) Len http://MenAndMice.com/DNS-training http://BIND8NT.MEIway.com : ISC BIND 8.2.4 for NT4 & W2K http://IMGate.MEIway.com : Build free, hi-perf, anti-abuse mail gateways Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
