As a school we not only ensure that we have up to date virus protection on our network, but we also use rules to filter various different things, including executables.
We do not allow pupils to bring executables into school. Our machines not only refuse to open executables from certain disc drives, but we also filter them out of students' email using the rules.ima As a 'private company' I see no problem in this. But would consider this unacceptable if this view was adopted by an ISP. It really does depend upon your client base.
