In the DNS manager console, right click on the Server name. Then select <Properties>, <Interfaces>, then be sure only the one IP address is listed in the "Operate on these IP addresses" box.
For what it's worth, we've had fewer hacks, fewer problems, and easier admin by far with our NT 4.0 DNS boxes than we had with our Linux boxes. I would appreciate if someone can help me answer the following question: Suppose I have a server with 2 IP address, (on the same NIC, or on different NICs) I want the queries that my DNS server sends to other servers (same or higher level) to always have the source address as ip.add.ress.2 and never ip.add.ress.1. I don't mind that my server only responds for DNS queries on ip.add.ress.2, and never on ip.add.ress.1 I did try the "server properties"-"Interfaces" tab for the dns server, but I did not get the expected results. I would appreciate a step by step instruction to set up DNS to only use ip.add.ress.2 as source address for the queries it sends Thanks in advance Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
