>I'm interested in the Virus & Junkmail programs. I'm a little confused -
>is it one or two products?

There are actually 5 different products in the Declude line:

Declude Virus (Standard, Pro, and soon to be Lite versions)
Declude JunkMail (Standard and Pro versions)
Declude Hijack
Declude Confirm (free)
Declude Queue (free, in beta)

>How does this announcement effect things? Does it effect both products or
>just one?

It only effects Declude Virus. It does not effect any of the other products.

>Are they sold together as a package or only separately?

The are sold separately, but you can run any/all of them together, and
there is a 10% discount for ordering two or more products at the same time.

>Are both installed on the IMail server itself?

All of the Declude programs are installed on the IMail
server. Specifically, Declude interfaces with IMail, so it must run on a
computer that has IMail installed. Most of our customers run Declude on
their main IMail server, although a few purchased an extra copy of IMail as
a "gateway" and have Declude running on there instead (which requires two
copies of IMail, but only one copy of Declude).

>Is it something I can install easily or is it something you need to install?

It's something that you can install. It doesn't have a fancy installation
program, but it can normally be installed in just a few minutes.

>Finally, how well does it get along with Len's program and should either
>be installed first? My understanding is his will offload the SMTP load

>gist of this right?

That's right. IMGate ( http://imgate.meiway.com ) runs on a *nix server on
a separate machine. IMail and Declude can then run on the same
server. IMGate will act as the first line of defense, and Declude/IMail
take care of the rest. Declude JunkMail can be set up to automatically
read the IP address that connected to IMGate, allowing you to run DNS-based
spam tests with Declude on the IMail server (which could be run on the
IMGate server, but there are some advantages to doing it on the IMail server).

>As far as Virus -- does that scan incoming, outgoing or both?

All versions of Declude Virus scan both incoming and outgoing mail.

>As far as Junkmail - does that scan incoming, outgoing or both?

It is designed to scan incoming mail, but the Pro version can also scan
outgoing mail. Spam scanning of outgoing mail isn't normally needed (our
Declude Hijack program is designed for protecting against unauthorized bulk
mailings sent from your mail server).
