On the first note, I have done that twice ;)
Deleted from imail admin, made sure directory structure was deleted from
under lists, and made sure everything was removed from the registry.

Second checks out if I understand it right, we do not have to worry about
that.

Would not make the grave mistake of doing the third ;)

Todd, Kenneth,

First,  make  sure  that  when  you  delete, everything's really gone,
including  Registry  keys  under  both  Lists  and  Users\_Aliases and
directory structure.

Second,  make sure you don't use 'imailsrv' or 'listserv' in the names
of  your  list  objects (including owners), as there are known issues.

Third,  make sure your owners are not the same as your list names. Who
are   the   owners   of   these  lists,  as  displayed  in  the  Imail
Administrator?
