Trent, Can you verify that Imail's DNS servers can resolve the MXs, and also whether the resolved MXs are reachable from the Imail box? Some versions of Imail take the non-RFC step of trying to send to a domain's A record if MX records exist but are unreachable (this is only supposed to be done if the MX records don't exist at all).
In both cases, the general problem area is finding and connecting to the MXs. Make sure you can do this interactively, and make sure you're using Imail's DNS servers, not Control Panel's, if they are different.
