The ONLY safe relay options are "No Relay" or "Relay For Addresses". You should have all of your POP3 clients use SMTP AUTH. WebMessaging already requires pwd. No other options are safe. If you have specific servers that require SMTP relay, but cannot do SMTP AUTH (like APC Powerchute), then use "Relay For Addresses" and specify only those server addresses. Only specify addresses for clients that cannot do SMTP AUTH.

What is the rule of thumb with regards to relaying. I am running a single IMail server. I have approximately 150 users. Most internal but about 40 external who use web messaging. Should I set the SMTP security to No Mail Relay ?......Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
