We had a similar problem. Our server froze almost all the time we did an access via our web-gateway. The same machine carries a coldfusion server and a web-server. On another machine, only running ms-sql-7 + imail everything works fine. We didn't find out what it was. It wasn't such a big problem since only a few people used the web-gateway. Now we build on a third machine the mail-server as a distinct mail-server without any other server-process.
