As long as one of the name servers is setup as "primary" and the other as
"secondary", they should have not problems keeping in sync with each other.

Subject: [IMail Forum] DNS

I'm new to DNS and was hoping some might give me some users here might point
me in the right direction.

My brother is letting me setup IMail on his network. He uses a Linux
machine for DNS, but I have just installed IMail on a Win2K server. I plan
to use Microsoft's DNS. I just bought the book from O'Reilly, "DNS on
Windows 2000." It is walking me through how to setup the DNS on Win2K, but
I am wondering how all this will interface with the DNS on the Linux
machine.

Right now I have some domains listed in the Linux DNS that I plan to have
start using the newly installed IMail program. Do I need to make entries
for these domains on both machines, or is there a way to make changes in the
Win2K machine and have it update on the other?

I'm not sure how to make sure these two name servers are in sync with each
other, or even whether it is something I should even worry about.

p.s. My answer to this might be in this O'Reilly book I just bought, but I
haven't found it yet. If someone can point me in the right direction, I
would appreciate it.
