When he is traveling how does he connect to the Internet? Is he using an
ISP with access numbers all over the place or is he calling long distance?
The reason I ask is because even if you enable smtp auth (which is a good
thing) he still may not be able to reach your mail server on port 25 because
most ISPs block port 25 except to their own mail servers. In that case the
email clients need to be configured to use the SMTP server of their ISP with
a reply to address of the regular domain. Another good alternative is Web
mail.

Subject: [IMail Forum] SMTP Relay ISSUE!!

Hi All,

Long time since last posting to this Useful mailing list:-)

I have an issue related to the SMTP Relay, and I hope you all help me to fix
it ASAP..

I have a client hosts his domain on my Imail server 7.01.
and his employees always travel arround the world...
He asked me to make him to access his email accounts using mail client
during his traveling...
Of course I cannot configure my Server to relay mail for anyone... I
configured my Imail server to relay mail for addresses.
So, I am asking if there is a way to configure my Sever to accept the
sending email without looking to the IP addresses of the host where I am
using the mail client.... I mean maybe by smtp password or something like
that???

Wishing to find a way to fix this issue

Awaiting for your reply

Best regards,,

Magdy H. Ibrahim
