Hey Scott I don't know if this will help or not but I have ran Panda AV (http://pandasoftware.com) free online virus scanner and was able to disenfect a virus within an mbx file. Don't know if it was just a fluke or what but the other mail was still there. Of course I do NOT recommend running any virus scanner on a server with the options set to 'delete or destroy' for common sense reasons. In this particular case it was a 'test' only. The eiarcom.com test file was used.

If there are already viruses in the mailbox files, there isn't any automated way to remove them. The problem is that virus scanners don't know the format of the .mbx files, so they have the option of keeping the virus where it is or deleting the whole .mbx file (removing all the user's E-mail). Note that Declude Virus works by stopping the E-mail before it gets to the .mbx files, so this would normally only be an issue for viruses that were received before Declude was installed. >Also f-prot tech support is very very slow. Their reply time is around >3 days. Is there any other AV program for W2K iMail server (not >expensive ) to use with declude virus software. The problem is that you want two things that don't often go together (fast support and inexpensive price). F-Prot is about as cheap as software can possibly be ($20/year for a license for up to 20 computers), but at that price, their support lacks. However, you also have to realize that you are asking them to do something they can't do (disinfecting or deleting a file within an .mbx file). They just can't do that (no AV program can, as far as I know). So even if you went with the AV software with the best support, the best that you would get is a very quick response saying "No", which isn't what you want to hear. If you have any issues with F-Prot as far as Declude is concerned, you can ask us, and we can help you (or you can ask on the Declude Virus mailing list). -Scott ___________________________________________________________________ Virus Scanned and Filtered by http://www.FamHost.com E-Mail System.
