probably the same situ as when IMGate is trying to deliver to IMail.

Imail has a "flood prevention" setting  in the SMTP security.  "deny hack 
attempts" IIRC (I hardly ever touch Imail anymore :)) ).

When Imail determines it sees a "flood" of deliveries and from one ip, say 
from  you list box or from an IMGate, Imail then dynamically blacklists 
that ip and refuses subsequent tcp connection attempts.
