We do wap development. The trouble here is that the existing interface is too technically dense for most wap devices. That is, any direct translation of Imail's web interface requires functions that are typically not avaiable on wap devices.
The correct way to approach this would be to develop a wap interface that uses IMAP under the surface. Such an interface would be deployable across any email system that supports IMAP, not just Imail, but could be tweaked to integrate tightly with Imail if required. We have a project like this on the table, but the schedule is such that it's not likely to see daylight for some time. You may try and find an existing WAP interface out there similar to the one I've described. I remember coming across a few - but I don't recall where they were - I do recall they were either proprietary or very expensive.
