In  my  counterinterpretation, 'alias' = 'CNAME.' The existence of two
hostnames for an IP address does not mean that they are not legitimate
A  records, and thus 'not aliases.' (To "prove" that the A records can
have  equal  weight, you can have two PTRs--which is RFC-legal, though
rarely supported at the application level and thus serves as more of a
cosmetic reminder.)
