NT or IMail (I believe its NT more than IMail) seem to have developed a
limit and/or gone sluggish on SMTP connections.

SMTP connections will be sluggish or refused at times (both from mail
servers and from clients- 10061) POP3 and network access and on screen
performance seem
unaffected. Only SMTP connections.

This is a Dual 1gig mhz processor, 768k Ram, Raid 5, NT 4 with all service
packs. Small number of spool files but nowhere drive space limits, gigs left.
Running Declude Virus and JM. Network cards were replaced with 3com. No NT
errors showing in logs so far.

Placed gateway servers in front of this server but while the gateway servers
spooled the mail they faced the same problem of not being able connect
enough to deliver mail (connections failed) thus backing up their spools
with undelivered mail.

Any one know of a reason why NT/Winsock/Imail/??? would do this.

TIA

Stu
