Ensure that you have turned off all power management for the NIC Card. Ensure that you have the latest drivers for this card. http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/filter_results.asp?strOSs=24&strT ypes=PLU%2CDRV%2CARC%2CSPH%2CUTL&ProductID=60&OSFullName=Windows+NT*+4.0&sub mit=Go%21 > > Any large mailboxes? > > Of course. Is Imail only good for small mailboxes with the upgrade? > IMail is just that.. 'EMail' I can not emphise this enough with our users. We don't offer 'file' storage. 50 megs, our limit, is insane - yet we have people complain. I seem to recall that there is a 'speed' increase 'work around' that is needed if you use the Killer Web Templates. Check the install instructions for the proceedures. I think it's primarily intended for web access though but it'll probably lighten the load off the cpu. > > When was the last defrag done? > > How do you defrag a highly active mail server with 1000s of users? If you are limited on ram < 256 megs then I'd think a mem upgrade should/would help. If your cpu is < 400 Mhz then you might consider an upgrade. If your fsb is only 66 mhz.. then again.. upgrade. > > Have you triple checked all TCP/IP settings on the server? > > They are the same ones I've been using for 5 years, checked thrice twice. > > > Is this a standalone server or a DC? > > Stand Alone > You might try adjusting your memory management and enable to Maximize Throughput For Network Applications. Any other applications running on this server that possibly could interfer with networking or platform capablities. SQL 6.5? Anti-Virus apps? > > Any odd files in the spool directory? > > Not in the new one... Maybe the product just sucks? > IMail 7.x has some very 'small' issues, none of which is identifiable from your concerns, but over all is a great product. ~Rick ___________________________________________________________________ Virus Scanned and Filtered by http://www.FamHost.com E-Mail System.
