    I am a little guy :))

Of course I usually parse the system and both web logs so I don't
actually know total size but the log file I checked for this was
    1,000,000 bytes about.

However my point was that even with ASP code generating a perl
command to execute the command line a 1,000,000 byte file was
parsed so quickly I couldn't measure it.

Now if I run the analyzer on the machine directly it is quite a
    bit faster.

So I am wondering how big his files are and how many he is trying
    to parse at one time.

I think if his files are so big that his program has been running
9 hours and is not done that he has considerably more issues to
consider than what log file analyzer to use.
