Are you running F-Prot on that server? A few people have recently reported slow SMTP connections when running 16-bit processes (such as F-Prot.exe) on the server -- the new F-Prot fpcmd.exe is a 32-bit program and fixes the problem.when sending email , SMTP connection to server takes forever; just started a little over a wek ago - rears it's ugly head more so during peak usage times (business day mostly), but does occasionly occur in off-peak times also....during peak times, I cannot complete a telnet session - times out....
