Since you firewalled the Imail's SMTP to the outside INET, then who is accepting the mails first to be relayed ??!? Postfix ?

I'm assuming that your email accounts are all set in Imail, then if there is no account set in postfix, you can't configure a pop-before-smtp either,right?
wrong. IMail pop server logs to IMGate log server.
. That means , in order for your mobile users to send emails out
quite a few people don't have roaming clients, or tell them to relay out through their access provider.
, you should be running an open relay server.
wrong. the roaming clients can SMTP AUTH to IMail (means opening access from internet to IMail port 25 but IMail is not in DNS MX records), or pop-before-smtp with IMGate (then can block access to Imail port 25)
