This was caused by an older HOSTS file fix I had to do for MSN.COM. Previous HOSTS fixes coming back to bite me.
sounds like they aren't fixes
I'm not trying to be rude about this issue, I just don't know what we are expected to do, all I want is a fix for this
you can't fix MSN's MX's. The RFC "MX algorithm" as implemented by Imail is as good as anybody's. Just let it do its work.
. I hear the reasons it happens, and thats fine, but I just want to know, how can I fix this?
You can't fix MSN.
Do you have a suggestion of something we can do so we don't have this continous problem?
You minimize the delivery delay by setting Imail to retry all deferred mail more frequently. Each retry, Imail should try all 10 MSN IPs until it reaches one (gets an SMTP response), or it will defer the msg for "retry" period.
Or do you just let your Customers suffer
you can't fix MSN.
until the other mail server is fixed, with the reasoning, "Hey! It's not our fault!"
which is (usually)the truth, try giving it to you customers.
Here's some MSN delivery stats for Friday, showing outbound "average delay" and "max delay" through IMGate servers:
Host/Domain Summary: Message Delivery (top 30)
sent cnt bytes defers avg dly max dly host/domain

How long are you delays sending to MSN?
Maybe there is a network problem between you and MSN. Again, nothing you can do about that.
