I am just curious what others are doing in the spam settings of Imail 8.
I currently have all 5 of the free DNS blacklists enabled, Verify MAIL FROM address, Verify HELO/EHLO Domain and Delete message after 3 matches setup.
You may want to look at the complete (over 100) list of DNS-based spam databases at http://www.declude.com/junkmail/support/ip4r.htm . Note that the FIVETENIGNORE test, which is one of the ones that comes pre-configured with IMail v8, will catch E-mail from some larger ISPs (someone just reported that all Cable and Wireless customers will have their mail caught by that test).
I am hesitant to turn on the reverse DNS lookup as I assume not all companies have a reverse DNS setup.
They are all *required* to have one. AOL is now saying that they may not accept mail from servers with no reverse DNS entry (and for years have counted it strongly in their secret weighting spam system). However, we still find that about 20% of legitimate E-mail comes from mailservers with no reverse DNS entry, so I wouldn't block E-mail *just* based on the lack of a reverse DNS entry.
