Here's the solution.

When a user has several mail programs accessing the mailbox at the same
time it messes up the Main.uid file in their directory. An example
would be someone using Webmail to access email *while* their Outlook
client was accessing the mail too. Or they have Outlook going at home
and checking the mailbox every 5 minutes. And then they're
simultaneously checking it from work.

Delete or move the Main.uid in the Imail directory of the user and this
solves the problem.

size of main.mbx

I have one user reporting that iMail 8 is indicating that the number of
new
messages being downloaded into Outlook Express differs from the number
actually received, and almost always iMail is saying that there is one
more
message than there actually is.

I've removed all rules.ima files associated with the user's domain and
local
account, so it's not being misplaced.

Anyone else seeing this?
