Here's the solution. When a user has several mail programs accessing the mailbox at the same time it messes up the Main.uid file in their directory. An example would be someone using Webmail to access email *while* their Outlook client was accessing the mail too. Or they have Outlook going at home and checking the mailbox every 5 minutes. And then they're simultaneously checking it from work.
